Disclaimer
Last updated: 2026-11-03.
This page gathers in one place what Sophaxis does not promise. The Terms of Use are binding; where this page differs, they apply.
Listed work
Listing is moderation, not peer review. Sophaxis does not check proofs, arguments or data, and does not guarantee that any listed work is correct, original, complete or of any quality. The authors bear full responsibility for their work, including its statement on generative models, which Sophaxis does not verify.
Metadata
Titles, authors, abstracts, licences, versions and dates come from the DOI metadata held by DataCite, Crossref and JaLC, and are shown as received. An error there can appear here. Errors can be reported through the link on each record page.
The identity check
The automatic check confirms that the person who controls an ORCID record opened the submission issue, and that the ORCID iD belongs to an author of the work. It is not an official identity check.
No affiliation
Sophaxis is an independent, personal project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of any repository it lists, nor of DataCite, Crossref, ORCID, GitHub, Vercel or the Internet Archive. Their names are used only to identify their services, and belong to their owners. They are not responsible for Sophaxis, for its records, or for any error that Sophaxis introduces; see the page for repositories and DOI registration agencies.
The operator's own use
The operator keeps Sophaxis as a hobby, as an extension of a personal reading shelf: a place to keep works in philosophy and mathematics at hand and to read them. This use does not change what is listed or how.
- Only an author of a work can submit it. The operator does not list a work by someone else because the operator has read it or wants to keep it; such a work stays on the operator's own shelf, outside Sophaxis.
- Sophaxis is not a business. It charges no one, sells nothing, shows no advertising and earns nothing.
- Sophaxis does not publish works. Each work is published by its repository under its DOI, and Sophaxis links to it.
- A PDF copy is the unmodified file the authors deposited, shared only as the work's licence allows, with its authors, its licence and a link to the original; see the Copyright Policy.
- Sophaxis takes no copyright and no exclusive licence in any work.
- A rights holder can ask for the removal of a work under the Takedown Policy.
These choices keep Sophaxis within what the authors and the licences allow. They are not legal advice, and they do not claim that no legal question can arise.
GitHub and other services
Sophaxis runs on GitHub: its code, its records and its submissions (GitHub issues) are kept there, and its automatic checks run as GitHub Actions in the public repository. The site is built from that repository and served by Vercel. Sophaxis does not use GitHub or ORCID sign-in and asks no one for access to their accounts; it reads only public data, through the public APIs of DataCite, Crossref, JaLC, ORCID and the repositories. Using GitHub to submit is subject to GitHub's own terms and privacy statement.
How Sophaxis was made
The site, its code, its policies and these pages were written with Claude Code, a coding tool by Anthropic, at the operator's request. The operator reviewed them and is responsible for them; Claude is not an author of Sophaxis or of any listed work. No language model decides on a submission: the automatic check is ordinary code, and every decision is made by a moderator. Sophaxis is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Links
Sophaxis links to repositories, DOIs and other sites that it does not control. It is not responsible for their content, their availability or their terms.
Availability
The site is provided as it is, and may be unavailable, change or close. If it closes, the repository with every record stays public; see Continuity in the Terms of Use.
Sophaxis depends on outside services:
- If Vercel stops, the site is not served; the records stay in the repository on GitHub and in the Internet Archive.
- If GitHub stops, no one can submit, and the automatic checks do not run; the site keeps showing what it last built.
- If DataCite, Crossref or JaLC cannot be reached, a submission cannot be checked until they can.
- If a repository removes a deposit, its DOI stops resolving, and the record is withdrawn under the Withdrawal Policy.
Not advice
The policies and pages of Sophaxis describe how Sophaxis works. They are not legal or professional advice.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss that arises from using the site or relying on listed work. This does not exclude or limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and nothing on this page limits a right that the law does not allow to be limited. Disputes are settled by agreement first, as the section Disputes in the Terms of Use sets out.
