Policies
Sophaxis is an overlay preprint server for philosophy and mathematics. It lists preprints that authors have already deposited in an open repository, and it gives each one a stable record page.
The policies
- Terms of Use: The rules for everyone who reads or submits.
- Submission Policy: Who can submit what, and what the submitter confirms.
- Moderation Policy: What moderation checks, and what it does not.
- Copyright Policy: Authors keep their copyright; what Sophaxis copies and why.
- Licence Policy: The accepted licences, and the licences of this site.
- Privacy Policy: What the site and the checks read, and what becomes public.
- Withdrawal Policy: How an author withdraws a listed work, and what stays.
- Takedown Policy: How to ask for removal, and what happens then.
What Sophaxis is not
Acceptance is moderation, not peer review. A listing on Sophaxis says that a submission passed the checks in the Moderation Policy. It does not say that the work is correct, original or important. Sophaxis does not guarantee the quality of any listed work.
Sophaxis is not a journal. It does not assign DOIs. The DOI stays with the repository where the author deposited the work, and it is the reference to cite.
No fees
Sophaxis charges nothing, to authors or to readers. There are no submission fees, no listing fees and no paid tiers. It will not start charging.
Operator and conflicts of interest
Sophaxis is operated by Takuya Nemoto, an independent researcher in Japan. The Operator and contact page says how to reach the operator. Submissions by the operator are moderated under the same rules and are marked on their record pages as the operator's own.
Finding work
Each record can be listed in more than one field. Authors with an ORCID iD have a page that lists their work on Sophaxis. Authors without one have no such page, because a name alone can belong to several people. New records are announced in an Atom feed, feed.xml. The public part of every record is available as papers.json, for reuse. Abstracts in both keep the licence of their work.
About these pages
These pages describe how Sophaxis works and what it promises. They are not legal advice. Each page shows the date of its last change, and every earlier version is kept in the public repository.
This site and its code were built with Claude Code (Anthropic). The operator is responsible for them. Claude is not an author.
